Cookie Policy

This page explains which cookies and similar technologies the site uses. The short answer: no advertising and no analytics cookies — only a strictly necessary one that remembers your language preference.

1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser when you visit a site; the site can read it on your next visit. Your browser’s local storage (localStorage) serves a similar function and is treated the same way in this policy.

2. What this site uses

No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel and no advertising cookies are in use. Visitor statistics come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is absent from the table above because it sets no cookie and does not recognise you across sessions — see section 3.

3. Why there is no cookie banner

A consent banner is required for cookies that are not necessary for the service to work. This site has none: the only cookie stores the language choice you deliberately made. The one element that does require consent — the map — does not load on its own; see below.

We do collect visitor statistics, but they do not require consent either. The tool is Cloudflare Web Analytics: it writes no cookie to your browser, takes no fingerprint of your device, and creates no identifier that would recognise you across sessions. What it measures is the page, not the visitor: how often each address was opened, from which country, through which link, and with which browser. Because no personal data is processed, no consent is needed.

Google Analytics was deliberately not chosen. It sets cookies and recognises visitors across sessions; had we used it, this site would have had to show a consent banner.

4. Google Maps — only if you click

The map on the About page deliberately does not load by itself. You first see a placeholder and a notice; only when you choose to show the map is a connection made to Google. At that moment your IP address is passed to Google and Google may set cookies. If you do not click, nothing is sent.

5. Cloudflare Turnstile

The quote request form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated submissions. It runs invisibly; you do not have to tick a box or pick images. During verification your IP address, TLS fingerprint, User-Agent header, and the site key with its associated origin are passed to Cloudflare. Turnstile loads only on the page containing the form, sets no cookies, and is not used for advertising. Cloudflare states that it cannot directly identify an individual from these signals.

6. Fonts

The font used in the logo is served from our own server. The font used for body text is loaded through Google Fonts; no cookie is set in the process, but your IP address is passed to Google’s server. We plan to remove this dependency and self-host the font; this section will be updated when we do.

7. How to manage cookies

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the language cookie on this site breaks nothing; your preference simply is not remembered, and arriving at the root address will take you to the default language, English.
